![]() Mixed choir “Daugava” of Daugavpils Latvian Centre of Culture. The mixed choir “Daugava” was founded in 1956, by Stanislavs Broks (1926 – 1977). Since 1996 the conductor of the choir is Jevgenijs Ustinskovs . The participants of the choir are young people at the age of 17 – 40 . The choir is active in concert activity . It repeatedly performed in cities and towns of Latvia , Russia , Lithuania , Estonia , Belarus , the Ukraine , France, Hungary , Germany , Poland , Austria, Netherlands. In the repertoire of choir there are works of different styles from Renaissance to modern Aleatory . Folk and sacred music has an important place too . The choir active in co-operation with various orchestras . The “Daugava” is a one of leader choirs in Latvia . In last time it took part in : - I International Choir Sacred Music Festival “Silver Bells” , Latvia , 2000 ( 1st prize ) ; - 4th International Choir Competition in Vilnius , Lithuania , 2000 ( Grand Prix ) ; - 13th International Choir Competition in Klaipeda , Lithuania , 2001 ( 1st place and special prize ) ; - 10th International Sacred Music Festival in Mogilev , Belarus , 2002 ( Grand Prix ) ; - 23rd All Latvian Song Festival , Latvia , 2003 ( 1st degree Diploma and special prize ) . - VII International Youth Choir Festival in Veldhoven (Netherlands, 2004) – 1st Prize cum laude. - Choir Competition in Riga, Latvia, 2005 (Special Prize). - 6th International Choir Competitoin in Elsenfeld, Germany , 2006 (3rd prize). - 61st Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Great Britain (Wales), 2007 (1st Prize). - 26th Festival Internacional de Musica de Cantonigros , Spain, 2008 (4th Prize).
